NIH Employee Wellness Program

Northern Inyo Hospital encourages wellness by providing our staff with opportunities through the Northern Inyo Hospital Employee Wellness Program overseen by the NIH Wellness Committee. Members ask that you please provide input to this evolving program so that we can better serve employees along the road to better health.

Northern Inyo Hospital Employee Wellness Program 

The NIH Wellness Program is for employees - free of cost and loaded with great benefits for all NIH's staff.

The NIH Wellness Committee is going to be offering various exercise/wellness options.

Schedules of available fitness classes and lectures are handed out during sign-up days. The following 2009 Calendar of Events and the NIH Master Calendar will provide the schedules.

Some of the possible offerings include:

  • Health screenings (cholesterol, blood glucose, blood pressure checks)
  • Fitness checks (body strength, stretch, and surface area measurements)
  • Free pedometer to employees signing up during these first three days
  • Fitness classes (walking, pilates, cardio/strength training) fitness class schedule
  • Friendly competitions between departments
  • Health and fitness lectures by local physicians and staff of NIH health & fitness lecture schedule
  • Healthy food portion option in our NIH cafeteria
  • Healthy NIH recipe contest details
  • NIH Employee Wellness Program discount card - special opportunities at various local businesses listing
