About Charissa

As a speech-language pathologist at Northern Inyo Hospital, Charissa enjoys working with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders across all ages. She has received hands-on experience and training in modified barium swallow evaluations (MBSS) and training in fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). She has experience in training individuals in the use of communication devices, and is also certified in LSVT LOUD, which is a voice treatment targeted for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

She moved from her hometown in Texas to Bishop in August 2018, where she currently lives with her husband and pup. When she is not working, she enjoys hiking, jeeping, wakeboarding, snowboarding, exploring the Sierras, and cheering on her husband at his jet ski, dirt bike, or mountain bike races.

Charissa has a heart for helping individuals in this community, and prays that she can make a difference in people’s lives within the areas of communication and swallowing disorders.
