Phone System Update: Progress Continues

We're pleased to share that Northern Inyo Healthcare District is seeing great progress with our new phone system. Based on ongoing monitoring, all indications show that calls are now connecting normally.

As a result, the temporary department cell phones that were put in place during the transition have been removed. We appreciate everyone's patience while these temporary communication options were available.

Texting Remains a Convenient Way to Reach Us

Text messaging is now part of our everyday communication workflow for many outpatient clinics and services, making it easier than ever to connect with your care team.

Patients can reply to any text message received from NIHD or send a text to their usual clinic or department number for services including:

  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Rehabilitation Services
  • Cardiopulmonary
  • Our outpatient clinics

Our staff monitor text messages during regular business hours and will respond as quickly as possible.

Not Receiving Text Messages?

If you haven't received text messages from NIHD and would like to, simply ask any Patient Access representative during your next visit to opt in. It's a convenient way to receive appointment reminders and communicate with many of our outpatient care teams.

Thank You

We recognize that transitioning to a new phone system required patience from our patients, visitors, and community. Your support, understanding, and kindness toward our staff throughout this process have been greatly appreciated.

While we'll continue monitoring system performance and making improvements as needed, we're excited about the enhanced communication capabilities this new system provides. Thank you for your continued trust in Northern Inyo Healthcare District as we work to make connecting with your healthcare team easier than ever.
