Northern Inyo Associates Virtual Care Clinic

Instantly Connect With Medical Specialists Throughout the Country

NIHD is finding new and innovative ways to care for our patients through telehealth/virtual visits. Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies, such as computers and mobile devices, to access health care services remotely and manage your health care. Our telehealth options give you and your family access to a wide range of services and allows you to see a specialist or other health care professional who is out of our area without having to travel to their office.

We offer two options for you:

What is Telehealth and Why Should I Use It?

  • NIHD has partnered with Adventist Telehealth and a range of other physicians to offer our patients access to doctors from outside of the area via a virtual visit that is done here at NIHD.
  • The advantage of Telehealth is that you have access to doctors with unique specialties that may not be offered here in the Eastern Sierra. Telehealth allows you to have a visit without traveling or taking time off from work.

What types of care can I get using Adventist Telehealth, and with which providers?

  • Rheumatology (Azadeh L Majlessi, MD)
  • Endocrinology (Alireza Hosseini, MD)
  • Pulmonology (Muhammad Ashraf-Alim, MD)
  • Sleep Medicine ( Snow Peterson, MO)

How It Works

  • Contact the Virtual Care Clinic at 760-873-2075 for assistance.
  • On the day of your appointment, you will check-in at the Virtual Care Clinic.
  • The Virtual Care Clinic Staff will lead you to a room for your visit and you will be joined by a Patient Presenter. The Patient Presenter will set-up the video conference with the doctor and then act as an assistant for the doctor by assisting with procedures such as taking vitals and advising the doctor about your medical history.
  • The visit is recorded and secure. You will be able to see and hear your doctor and they will be able to see you.

Is the visit covered by my Insurance?

  • Any insurance accepted by NIH should cover Virtual Care Clinic visits. Please contact the Virtual Care Clinic if you have any questions regarding insurance coverage.

Can someone else join me for my scheduled telehealth appointment?

  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only the patient’s caregiver is allowed to accompany the patient for the visit.
