Inpatient Care

Northern Inyo Healthcare District has a 16-bed Acute/Subacute unit, 4-bed Intensive Care Unit and 5-bed Maternity Unit.

  • Acute/Subacute Care
    • The Acute/Subacute Unit provides inpatient-nursing care for patients of all ages meeting the specialized medical care needs of Surgical, Telemetry, Orthopedic and Pediatric patients. The unit also provides care for outpatient observation patients, swing bed patients and palliative care hospice patients.
  • Swing Bed Care
    • The Swing bed department is integrated into The Acute/Subacute Department. This department provides inpatient rehabilitation, speech therapy, occupational therapy and nursing care for patients meeting the specialized criteria for Rehabilitation and Transitional Care. This multidisciplinary team supports the patient to return home or increase their physical functions and ability to better care for themselves or to support end of life and complex wound care needs.
  • Intensive Care Unit
    • The Intensive Care Unit is a four-bed unit designed, equipped, and staffed to care for critically ill patients.
