About Monica

Monica spent most of her childhood in Maryland and Pennsylvania, spending her time hiking, caving, and teaching Martial Arts. She moved out west at age 18 to rock climb and attend school. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Management from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ, where she spent summers as a wildland firefighter following two terms on a conservation crew with Americorps.

She graduated with her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina and has been practicing as a pediatric Occupational Therapist since September 2014.

Monica is currently a post-professional Occupational Therapy doctoral candidate through Boston University. Her research focus is on the efficacy of using a cognitive behavioral approach in the Occupational Therapy setting to improve daily functioning for individuals living with mental illness.

She lives in Bishop with her husband and enjoys splitboarding, tennis, sewing and rock climbing.
