Board Committees

The NIHD Board of Directors serves as the stewards of the Healthcare District. The Board represents residents of the northern Owens Valley by protecting and enhancing their investment in NIHD in ways that improve the community’s health, collectively and individually. Among the many efforts put forth by the Board is the creation of standing, ad hoc, or task force committees as deemed appropriate.

  • Standing Committees are permanent and open-ended, intended to address a designated ongoing subject such as District governance, finance and audit, and compliance, quality, safety and risk.
  • Ad Hoc Committees are created for a limited time and address specific topics, such as developing the bi-annual Community Health Needs Assessments.
  • Task Force Committees are set up to reach a specific goal, often quickly, such as appointing a new board member or executive to serve the District.

By design, these committees develop and make policy recommendations to the Board, often with input from:

  • NIHD’s Executive Team
  • NIHD’s medical providers
  • NIHD’s departmental leaders and
  • Subject matter experts from within or outside the District
