Maggie Egan (placeholder)

Margaret “Maggie” Egan brings more than 40 years of healthcare and emergency medical service experience to the Northern Inyo Healthcare District Board of Directors. A Bishop resident for 27 years, she previously lived and worked in Mammoth Lakes for six years before relocating to Bishop.

Ms. Egan served NIHD from 1999 to 2014 in roles including Admissions, Radiology, Administrative Assistant, and Medical Staff Coordinator. Her work supported credentialing and privileging processes, committee operations, regulatory compliance, and daily communication with physicians and clinical teams. In addition to her professional roles, Maggie volunteered extensively with the NIH Auxiliary and the NIH Foundation, serving as Foundation President for several years. At the request of former CEO John Halfen, she also served as an employee advocate on multiple occasions.

Before moving to California, Egan served as a paramedic for nearly four decades and continued her EMT and CPR instruction upon relocating to the Eastern Sierra. She also worked extensively in ski patrol and medical-response operations in Utah, Virginia and West Virginia.

“Serving on the NIHD Board is an opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.” Ms. Egan said. “I’ve worked alongside the people of this District for many years, and I care deeply about ensuring that everyone who lives and visits here has access to safe, reliable, and compassionate care. I look forward to supporting NIHD’s mission and helping move our community into a healthy future.”

Ms. Egan is dedicated to strengthening rural healthcare and supporting the well-being of the Eastern Sierra communities she has long called home. She and her husband make their home in Bishop.
