Infusion

Northern Inyo Healthcare District’s Infusion Center offers a comfortable, convenient setting for people who require short- and long-term infusion therapy and medications. Our infusion services are provided by a supportive, knowledgeable staff of experienced registered nurses who specialize in this type of therapy and delight in placing patient needs above all else.

Infusion therapy may be needed when a condition cannot be treated effectively by pills or other oral medications. Most often, the drug is delivered directly into the veins by IV, but infusion therapy may also refer to situations where medications are provided through intramuscular routes.

In addition to providing cancer treatment medications, NIHD’s Infusion Centers delivers antibiotics to fight infection, blood transfusions to fight anemia, arthritis medications to manage inflammation and joint pain, and other blood-based treatments.

Services include:

  • Central line catheter care
  • Chemotherapy
  • Hydration therapy
  • Intravenous therapies
  • IV antibiotic therapy
  • IV anti-nausea care
  • IV immune globulin
  • Intramuscular injections
  • Subcutaneous injections
  • Transfusion of blood products

To assist cancer patients and families through the treatment process, NIHD offers the support of an Oncology Patient Navigator, free of charge. The oncology patient navigator provides education, emotional support, and anticipatory guidance to patients and their families. Oncology patient navigators serve as advocates and educators to ensure cancer patients receive the support and knowledge they need to navigate through the health care system.

The center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please call (760) 873-2619
