Alternate contact options during phone system transition

Northern Inyo Healthcare District continues to transition to a new telephone system designed to improve communication and provide an enhanced experience for patients and callers.

As with many technology upgrades, the transition from an older platform to a newer system has presented some unexpected challenges. Some patients may experience delays in receiving callbacks or connecting with certain clinics and services.

NIHD appreciates the community's patience and understanding as staff work diligently to address these issues and improve service.

Alternate Contact Options

Patients who have left a voicemail with one of the outpatient clinics or services listed below and have not received a response may text the appropriate number for assistance. NIHD's Patient Access team will help connect patients with the care team they need.

Please note that text messaging is available only for the outpatient clinics and services listed above. Text messaging is not available for all NIHD departments, hospital units, or emergency services.

For privacy and security reasons, patients should not send personal health information, insurance information, or other sensitive medical details by text message.

Patients who are unable to send text messages are encouraged to continue calling the clinic or service they are trying to reach.

Once fully implemented, the new phone system is expected to provide improved communication tools and a better experience for patients and callers.
