More ways to reach us during phone system improvements

Northern Inyo Healthcare District has added temporary ways for patients and community members to reach our teams while improvements to the new phone system continue.

Remember, for medical emergencies, call 911 immediately.

For non-emergencies, please call the NIHD department you need first. Many calls are connecting successfully. If your call does not go through or you hear repeated prompts without reaching the right department, use one of the options below.

Option 1: Text Us (Mobile Users)
If you have a mobile phone, reply to any text message you received from NIHD or text your usual clinic or department number. Staff monitor these messages during regular business hours and will respond as quickly as possible. Texting is a quick way to reach Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation Services, Cardiopulmonary, and all outpatient clinics.

Option 2: Temporary Cell Phones (Landline Users)
If you use a landline or cannot reach NIHD through the regular number you use, call one of the temporary cell phones below:

  • Front Desk Operator   760-920-0857
  • Rural Health Clinic Nurses   760-937-5121
  • Labor & Delivery   760-937-5409
  • Medical-Surgical & ICU   760-920-3299
  • Emergency Department   760-937-5778

These phones are normally used only during emergencies. They will remain available until the new phone system is working reliably and are not intended for everyday use.

All patient care continues without interruption. These temporary options are here to help our community reach our teams as we continue to improve our phone system. NIHD knows these phone issues have been frustrating and sincerely appreciates your patience, understanding, and kindness to our team.

The new phone system is designed to provide more reliable service and a better experience for our patients and community. NIHD will continue to share updates as improvements are made.
